The Yasaki JACKS HBS-250 is a semi-automatic commercial deli slicer with a 250 mm forged stainless steel blade and thickness adjustable from 0.2 to 12 mm — from near-transparent prosciutto to a 12 mm steak slice. Its rigid one-piece die-cast aluminium alloy body keeps blade deflection minimal, which is what makes every slice the same thickness rather than tapering. Suitable for frozen meat, with a built-in sharpener and an aluminium safety ring guard.
Why operators choose the HBS-250
- 0.2 to 12 mm adjustable thickness — one machine covers wafer-thin smallgoods and thick-cut meats, so you are not limited to a middle range
- Minimal blade deflection for slice uniformity — the rigid one-piece body is why slices stay the same thickness through a run instead of tapering as the blade flexes
- 250 mm forged stainless steel blade — forged rather than stamped, so it holds an edge under commercial duty
- Suitable for frozen meat — not every slicer is — a machine that stalls or deflects on frozen product is limited to fresh only
- Built-in sharpener — the edge is maintained in place, which is what keeps cut quality consistent over months
- Aluminium safety ring guard — a real guard around the blade on a machine that genuinely needs one
- Rigid one-piece die-cast alloy body — nothing to work loose, and it wipes down as a single form rather than around joins
- Maximum product width 250 mm — matches the blade, so the full diameter is usable

Venue suitability
The HBS-250 suits delis, butchers, sandwich bars, cafes, clubs and caterers slicing smallgoods and meats to order. The 0.2 mm bottom end of the range makes it genuinely useful for continental smallgoods, not just sandwich meat.

Installation & delivery
It runs from a standard 240 V, 10 A outlet, so no dedicated circuit or electrician is needed. Allow 575 x 465 mm of bench with clearance to the right for the carriage travel and space to work safely at the blade. Site it where it can be fully dismantled and cleaned down, and follow the manufacturer's guarding and handling instructions — a 250 mm blade demands it. Dispatched from our Sydney HQ with partner warehouses in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth for faster delivery Australia-wide. Backed by a 2-year return-to-base warranty — the unit is returned for service rather than attended on site. See our warranty information page for full terms.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What thickness range does the HBS-250 cut? A: 0.2mm to 12mm, adjustable — thin enough for continental smallgoods and thick enough for a steak slice.
Q: Can it slice frozen meat? A: Yes, Yasaki specifies it as suitable for frozen meat. Not all slicers are, so this widens what the machine can be used for.
Q: Is there anything it should not be used for? A: Yes — it is not suitable for slicing tomato. That limitation is stated by the manufacturer.
Q: Why does blade deflection matter? A: A blade that flexes under load produces slices that taper through a run. The rigid one-piece die-cast body is what keeps deflection minimal and slice thickness consistent.
Q: Does it need sharpening accessories? A: No. A sharpener is built in, so the edge is maintained in place rather than needing the blade removed or replaced.
Q: What warranty applies? A: Two years, return to base. The unit is returned for service rather than a technician attending on site.
