Choosing between 2, 4, 6 or 8 burners comes down to service volume and station layout — most café set-ups run a 4-burner, while high-volume restaurants and commercial kitchens favour 6- or 8-burner floor ranges. Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a commercial gas cooktop and a domestic gas stove?

Commercial gas cooktops run at higher BTU outputs (typically 15,000–30,000 BTU per burner vs 5,000–12,000 domestic), use heavier cast-iron grates, stainless steel bodies rated for continuous daily use, and are built to AS/NZS commercial gas appliance standards. They are not rated for residential installation.

How many burners do I need for my commercial kitchen?

2-burner: small café or secondary prep station. 4-burner: standard café or small restaurant. 6-burner: mid-volume restaurant or high-output café. 8-burner: high-volume restaurant, hotel kitchen, or anywhere running multiple concurrent services. When in doubt, size up — a burner you don't use costs nothing; a missing burner costs throughput.

Natural gas (NG) or LPG — which should I choose?

NG is cheaper per MJ and requires no bottle management, but needs a mains gas connection and a licensed gasfitter for install. LPG works in locations without mains gas and is portable, but running costs are higher and you need a gas bottle management arrangement. Both fuel types are available across most models in our range.

Do I need a licensed gasfitter to install a commercial gas cooktop in Australia?

Yes — all gas appliance connections in Australia must be performed by a licensed gasfitter under AS/NZS 5601. This applies to both NG and LPG connections. Delivery and positioning are separate from the gas connection.

Do you deliver commercial gas cooktops Australia-wide?
