The Blizzard SN-31A is a self-contained underbench cube ice maker built for cafés, bars, convenience stores, and restaurants that need up to 31kg of clear 22mm cube ice per day from a 460mm-wide footprint. The air-cooled unit stores approximately 10kg of ice in an insulated LDPE bin, and an internal drain pump means it can be installed where a gravity drain isn't close by. WaterMark certified for Australian plumbing compliance and fitted with a standard 10A plug.
Key features
- Up to 31kg ice per 24hr — steady cube supply for a busy café, bar, or small restaurant through full-day service
- Approx. 10kg insulated LDPE ice bin — holds a working reserve so peak service doesn't outrun production
- 22mm cube ice (Hisakage PCL) — dense, slow-melting cubes suited to soft drinks, spirits, and iced coffee
- Internal drain pump included — installs where gravity drainage isn't available, such as island benches
- Removable water filter — protects ice quality and the water line; cartridge swaps out without tools
- Quality components — U.S. Morris water pump, German EBM-Pabst fans, Danfoss expansion valve, Saginomiya solenoid
- R290 natural refrigerant — low-GWP hydrocarbon refrigerant (90 g charge) with fan-forced air cooling
- WaterMark certified (WMTS-105 / WM-022840) — meets Australian plumbing compliance for commercial install
- 10A single-phase plug-in — connects to a standard Australian power point; no electrician required

Venue suitability
Suited to cafés, cocktail and sports bars, convenience stores, and restaurants where a 460mm-wide unit slots under the bench and 31kg/day keeps pace with drink service. The internal drain pump makes it a strong pick for island benches and sites without a floor waste nearby — a feature most gravity-drain ice makers can't match. Venues pushing well past 200 drinks a day at peak should consider a higher-output machine or a larger reserve bin.

Installation notes
The SN-31A needs a standard 10A 220-240V outlet, a cold-water supply, and a drain line — the built-in drain pump handles sites where gravity drainage isn't practical. The unit is WaterMark certified, so plumbers can sign off without variation. Allow ventilation clearance around the louvred side and front panels so the fan-forced condenser can breathe.

Frequently asked questions
Is 31kg of ice per day enough for my café or bar?
As a guide, 31kg/day covers roughly 180–250 drinks per day depending on glass size and ice usage. Cafés serving iced drinks, small cocktail bars, and restaurants up to about 50 seats are a good fit. Busier venues should step up to a larger-output machine or add a reserve ice bin.
What type of ice does the Blizzard SN-31A make?
It produces dense 22mm cube ice on a Hisakage PCL evaporator system. Cube ice is the all-round commercial standard — it chills quickly, melts slowly, and suits soft drinks, spirits, iced coffee, and water service equally well.
Does the SN-31A need a floor drain nearby?
No — an internal drain pump is built in, so the unit can push waste water to a drain that isn't directly below or beside it. That makes it suitable for island benches and back-bar positions where gravity-drain ice makers can't be installed. It still needs a cold-water inlet and a standard 10A power outlet.
Will it fit under a standard commercial bench?
The unit measures 460mm wide × 430mm deep × 800mm tall, so it fits under standard 900mm-high commercial benches with room to spare. Leave clearance around the front and side ventilation panels so the air-cooled condenser gets adequate airflow.
How often should I clean it and replace the water filter?
Clean the bin and sanitise the water circuit every 3 months in standard Australian water conditions — more often in hard-water areas. The SN-31A has a removable water filter; replace the cartridge regularly to protect ice taste and the water line, and keep a maintenance log to support any warranty claim.
