The Anvil WBA1001 is a single Belgian waffle baker producing a 190 mm waffle, with 2 x 500 W heating elements, a 180 degree rotating plate and programmable heat and time settings on a digital display. At 1 kW it runs from a standard 10 A outlet.

Q: How big is the waffle?

Q: Why do the plates rotate?

The iron turns through 180 degrees during the bake so the batter spreads evenly through the whole mould rather than settling to the bottom. That is what gives a proper Belgian waffle - light and cooked through - instead of one that is dense underneath and pale on top.

Q: What electrical supply does it need?

The double WBA1002 has four 500 W elements, is 520 mm wide and is supplied with two 10 amp plugs - so it needs two separate outlets, not one. Both make the same 190 mm waffle.
