The Benchstar NP-2SL is a commercial countertop super steamer built for fast, high-volume service. A large boiler generates fresh, strong steam and reheats it to 120-130C, while a manifold system exchanges and recycles residual heat for consistent cooking across a 34-litre stainless steel chamber. Four pre-set menus, delay cooking, automatic water refill and an IPX4 rating make it a practical production unit, and the stackable modular design means capacity can grow. It runs on a 20 A single-phase supply.
Why operators choose the NP-2SL
- 34 litre chamber with steam reheated to 120-130C — superheated steam cooks faster and more evenly than a simple boiling-water steamer
- Heat-recycling manifold — exchanges and recycles residual heat, so running cost per batch is lower through a long service
- Stackable modular design — add a second unit above rather than replacing the first when volume grows
- Four pre-set menus plus delay cooking — repeatable results per product, and a start time you can set ahead of service
- Automatic water refill — the boiler tops itself up, so a long run does not depend on someone remembering
- Auto and manual electric drain — drain on a schedule or on demand, which is what keeps water-scale under control
- Water-scale cleaning function — built-in descaling, the maintenance job that otherwise shortens a steamer's life
- IPX4 rated with keep-warm preservation — built for a wet environment, and holds cooked product at temperature after the cycle

Venue suitability
The NP-2SL suits yum cha kitchens, Asian restaurants, bakeries, hotels and production kitchens steaming at volume. It is the single-phase model in this pair — its sibling, the NP-4SL, is a taller unit requiring 415 V three-phase power, so check which supply your site has before choosing between them.

Installation & delivery
It draws its power through a 20 A supply, not a standard 10 A outlet. Confirm a 20 A circuit is available at the install position or budget for an electrician to provide one. Allow 672 x 650 mm of bench with clearance above for escaping steam, and site it within reach for filling. At 53 kg it is a two-person lift, and if you intend to stack a second unit later, plan the height now. Dispatched from our Sydney HQ with partner warehouses in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth for faster delivery Australia-wide. Backed by a 1-year parts and labour warranty, plus a further year parts only when the product is registered within 14 days of invoice — see our warranty information page for full terms.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What power supply does the NP-2SL need? A: 240V single phase at 4.4kW through a 20A supply — more than a standard 10A outlet provides, so confirm a 20A circuit is available or budget for an electrician.
Q: How is it different from the NP-4SL? A: The NP-2SL is the single-phase model, 420mm tall with a 34 litre chamber on a 20A supply. The NP-4SL is 620mm tall and requires 415V three-phase power. They share the boiler design, pre-set menus and IPX4 rating.
Q: Why does reheating the steam matter? A: Steam reheated to 120-130C carries more energy than steam at boiling point, so food cooks faster and more evenly. The manifold then recycles residual heat rather than venting it.
Q: What maintenance does it need? A: It has a water-scale cleaning function and both automatic and manual electric drain, which together handle the descaling and draining that otherwise shorten a commercial steamer's life.
Q: Can capacity be added later? A: Yes. The design is stackable and modular, so a second unit can be added above rather than replacing this one.
Q: What warranty applies? A: One year parts and labour, plus a further year parts only if you register the product within 14 days of invoice.
