The Bezzera Otto Silver is a compact 2-group volumetric espresso machine with an 8 litre boiler and, unusually for this class, a built-in pump — which means it can run from a water tank rather than a mains connection. That makes it a genuine option for food trucks, coffee vans, pop-ups and trade shows as well as a fixed cafe bar. Each group gives four programmable volumetric doses with pre-brewing, and it takes cups up to 13 cm tall. It needs a 15 A supply.
Why operators choose the BZOTTOCDE2IS1
- Built-in pump, so it can run from a water tank — this is the feature that separates it from most 2-group machines - no mains plumbing means it works in a van, at an event, or in a tenancy where a water line is not practical
- Two-group capacity in a compact 500 mm footprint — the production of a 2-group machine without the bar length a traditional one demands
- Four volumetric doses per group with settable quantities — the same shot every time regardless of who is on the machine, which is what protects consistency through a rush
- Pre-brewing — a short pre-infusion before full pressure, which evens out extraction on a fresh or coarse grind
- Electronically regulated solenoid valves on the groups — dosing is controlled electronically rather than mechanically, giving constant quantity and temperature
- Group head heater — the group itself is heated, not just the water - that is what stops the first shot of the day pulling cold
- Automatic boiler water supply with element cut-out — the boiler tops itself up, and the element shuts off if water runs short so it cannot dry-fire
- 13 cm cup clearance — takes tall takeaway cups as well as traditional espresso cups, without a separate riser
- Two fully flexible stainless steam and water arms — flexible arms are faster to work with on a busy bar than fixed wands
- Stainless steel body — the surface that gets wiped down twenty times a shift

Venue suitability
The Otto suits cafes, restaurants and bars wanting 2-group output from a short bar, and it is one of the few machines at this level genuinely suited to mobile work — coffee vans, food trucks, event and pop-up trading — because the built-in pump lets it draw from a tank instead of a mains line.

Installation & delivery
It needs a 15 A supply. A 15 A plug has a larger earth pin and will not fit a standard 10 A socket, so confirm the circuit or budget for an electrician. It plumbs to a G 3/8 inch load and a G 3/4 inch drain if you are running it on mains, or draws from a water tank using the built-in pump. Water quality determines the life of any boiler, so budget for filtration. At 57 kg it is a two-person lift onto the bar.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Can the Bezzera Otto run without a mains water connection?
Yes. It has a built-in pump and can be connected to a water tank, which is what makes it suitable for food trucks, coffee vans, pop-ups and trade shows. It can equally be plumbed to mains via the G 3/8 inch load connection.
Q: Will it run from a standard power point?
No. At 2,600 W it needs a 15 A supply. A 15 A plug has a larger earth pin and will not fit a standard 10 A socket, so confirm the circuit or budget for an electrician.
Q: How many doses can be programmed?
Four volumetric doses per group, with settable quantities and pre-brewing, so both groups can be set up for your menu.
Q: Will it fit tall takeaway cups?
Yes - it supports cup heights up to 13 cm as well as traditional espresso cups.
Q: What size is the boiler?
8 litres, with automatic water supply and an element cut-out that protects it if the water level runs short.
Q: What warranty does the BZOTTOCDE2IS1 come with?
Covered for 1 year, parts only — labour is not included. On a machine of this value that is worth budgeting for, because a service call is on you from day one. Terms vary by product — see our warranty information page for full details.
