The P4U-PV201 is a benchtop combination cutter and slicer that does two jobs in one footprint: a vegetable slicer taking discs for slicing, grating, shredding, dicing and chip cutting, and a cutter mixer with a 2.6 litre copolyester bowl for chopping, mincing, grinding, liquidising, emulsifying and kneading. It runs across nine speeds from 500 to 3,600 rpm, draws 750 W from a standard AU 10 A plug, and ships with three discs. The nine speeds are about control, not outright speed - the single-speed models in this range are recorded at a higher fixed 15,000 rpm.

Why operators choose the P4U-PV201

  • Nine speeds, 500 to 3,600 rpm - a slow speed for folding and kneading and a fast one for emulsifying, selected rather than fixed - which is what a pastry or garde manger section is buying
  • 2.6 L copolyester bowl - supplied with the machine, with a micro-toothed blade rotor; 2.6 litre and 3.6 litre stainless bowls are listed as options if you want a metal bowl later
  • 750 W - the higher-powered half of the range - 750 W against 500 W on the single-speed models, still on a standard 10 A outlet at about 3.1 A
  • Pulse function on both tools - short bursts for coarse chopping in the bowl and for precise slicing and grating at the head
  • Two machines on one base - a cutter mixer bowl and a vegetable slicer head share one motor unit - the reason to choose it over a single-function processor when bench space is the constraint
  • Three discs included - a 2 mm slicer, a 5 mm slicer and a 3 mm grater ship with the machine; further 175 mm discs and grids for dicing, grating and shredding are available separately
  • Half-moon hopper plus two round chutes - the 1.25 L half-moon hopper takes bulk product while the 25 mm and 55 mm round chutes hold long vegetables straight for an even slice
  • Lever-pusher safety stop - the slicer blade stops as soon as the lever pusher is lifted, and the frontal lever works left or right handed
  • Fits a 200 mm container under the chute - a standard gastronorm pan sits under the output chute, so it runs continuously instead of stopping to empty a bowl
  • Bowl and lid scraper included - the scraper is supplied, which is what makes continuous emulsifying practical rather than stopping to push product back down
  • Tool-free strip-down - every part that touches food comes off without tools and is dishwasher safe, which is what decides whether a machine actually gets cleaned between services

Venue suitability

The P4U-PV201 suits cafes, restaurants, clubs, caterers and aged-care kitchens where the cutter does more than chop - dressings, mousses, pates, doughs and purees all want a speed chosen for the product rather than one fixed speed. If the bowl work is mostly straightforward chopping, the single-speed models cost less to run at the same job. Choose this one when the range of speeds is the point.

Choosing within the PREP4YOU range

Six PREP4YOU cutter-slicers share this machine base and differ on three things: how many speeds, which bowl, and how big the bowl is. This one is the 9 speeds, 2.6 L copolyester bowl. The others:

Installation & delivery

Plugs into a standard 240 V 10 A outlet at 750 W, so no dedicated circuit and no electrical work. Allow 527 mm of height on the bench with the machine assembled, plus clearance above to lift the lid and change discs, and leave room under the output chute for a 200 mm deep container. It ships in a 410 x 630 x 520 mm carton, so the slicer head comes off for transport. Strip it down without tools for washing.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What is a copolyester bowl, and should I choose stainless instead?

Copolyester is the polymer bowl the supplier lists for this model; stainless steel bowls are listed as the alternative in 2.6 and 3.6 litre sizes. Both use the same micro-toothed blade rotor, and either can be added to the machine later, so this is not a decision you are locked into. Tell us what you are processing and we will say which bowl operators in that job tend to run.

Q: What is the difference between the cutter and the slicer?

The cutter is a bowl with a blade - it chops, mixes, minces, grinds, liquidises, emulsifies and kneads. The slicer is a head that takes discs and feeds product through them for slices, grates, shreds, dice and chips. This machine does both on one base, which is why it replaces two appliances.

Q: Are any discs included?

Yes - three. A 2 mm slicer, a 5 mm slicer and a 3 mm grater ship with the machine. Further discs and grids in the 175 mm size are available for dicing, shredding and other cuts; tell us the cuts you need and we will match them.

Q: Can I change the bowl later?

The supplier lists a 2.6 litre copolyester bowl and 2.6 litre and 3.6 litre stainless steel bowls as options across the range, each with a micro-toothed blade rotor. The bowl this model ships with is the one in its title, and the others can be added later - so the bowl is the least risky part of the choice.

Q: Is a nine-speed model faster than a single-speed one?

The manufacturer records the single-speed models at 15,000 rpm and the nine-speed models at 500-3,600 rpm, the same way in the supplier specification for every model in the range. The nine-speed machines are not a faster version of the single-speed ones - they trade one high fixed speed for a range you select. If top speed matters more than control, tell us the job and we will confirm which model suits it.

Q: How much can it get through?

The manufacturer rates every model in the range at up to 100 settings per service on the vegetable slicer and up to 50 per service on the cutter mixer. It does not define what a setting is, so use the two figures against each other - the slicer carries roughly twice the throughput of the cutter - rather than as an absolute cover count for your menu.

Q: How heavy is it?

The machine weighs 14 kg, which is the figure to use when you check a bench or plan a lift. A freight quote will show a higher number: carriers charge on the size of the carton as well as what is inside it, so that figure is volumetric weight, not what the machine weighs.

Q: What does return to base warranty mean in practice?

It means the machine goes to the service agent rather than a technician attending your site. On a single-machine prep section that is real downtime, so it is worth knowing before you buy. Cover is 2 years - see our warranty information page for full terms.
