Hendi CDU0001 UNIQ Electric Chafing Dish GN 1/1 Black

The Hendi CDU0001 is a black UNIQ electric chafing dish that holds buffet food with bain marie heating rather than a direct element, so the food sits over a water bath instead of on the heat. A removable GN 1/1 pan, 100 mm deep, is controlled from 35°C to 85°C in 1°C steps from a digital panel that remembers the last setting.

• Water bath, not a direct element — bain marie heating spreads the heat through water before it reaches the pan, which is why sauces and proteins hold for a service without catching at the edges. It is a holding appliance and is not intended for cooking.
• Set point in 1°C steps, with memory — the digital panel shows working time, the set temperature and the actual temperature, and recalls the last setting at switch-on - so the same dish goes back to the same number without anyone having to remember it.
• Two-part tempered glass lid — only half the lid opens at a time, so the heat lost on each serve is halved compared with lifting a full lid. The handle is insulated and the hinge is aluminium.
• Polypropylene body, not steel — high temperature resistant polypropylene keeps the weight down, which is what makes this range practical to carry between off-site functions.
• Card holder built into the lid — product name cards sit in the lid rather than being propped against the dish, which keeps a buffet line legible and tidy.
• Part of a four-colour range — the same dish is also available as CDU0002 white, CDU0003 green, CDU0004 beige. The colour is the only difference in the holding performance.

Installation & delivery

A benchtop unit with no fixed installation: fill the water bath to the embossed 4 L line, plug into a standard 10 amp outlet and set the temperature. Do not run it dry - the water bath is what protects the food from the element. Delivered Australia-wide.
