The Anvil FTA0600 is a flat top griddle with a 605 x 420 mm cooking surface on a 10 mm thick plate, fully welded to the base. 240 V at 3 kW. It needs a 15 amp supply, not a standard 10 amp outlet.
Why operators choose the ICE-FTA0600
- 10 mm thick cooking plate — thickness is what a griddle is really bought on. A thick plate holds its heat when cold product hits it, so the second batch cooks like the first instead of stewing on a plate that has dropped 40 degrees
- 605 x 420 mm cooking surface — the usable area, which is what to plan a service around rather than the external width
- Fully welded plate-to-base — no seam along the join for fat to work into, which is the joint that fails first on a cheaper griddle
- Bottom-mounted grease collection pan — it draws out from underneath rather than having to be lifted over a hot plate at the end of service
- Top splash guard to take the wear a griddle gets from the equipment beside it
- Fast start-up and high output for a continuous line
- Warranty is 2 years parts and 1 year labour — the two halves run for different periods, so in the second year the part is covered and the technician's time is not
- The FTA0400 is the compact plate — 355 x 420 mm at 2 kW, with no amperage recorded

Venue suitability
A flat top griddle suits burger bars, cafes, clubs, breakfast services and any line cooking to order — eggs, bacon, onions, patties and toasted sandwiches all come off the same plate. At 470 mm deep it takes a standard bench.

Installation & delivery
Dimensions are recorded width x height x depth: 623 x 241 x 470 mm — note the Anvil order puts height second, so the last figure is the depth, and the 241 mm is how tall it stands on the bench. No weight is recorded. A griddle radiates and vents, so leave clearance behind and above it and check your extraction covers the position. A 15 amp supply is recorded — 3 kW at 240 V — so this does not run from a standard 10 amp outlet. Confirm what is at the intended position before delivery, and budget for an electrician if a 15 amp circuit is not already there.

Frequently asked questions
Q: What circuit does it need?
A 15 amp supply at 3 kW - not the standard 10 amp outlet, so check what is at the intended position before delivery and budget for an electrician if it is not already there. Worth noting the contrast with its smaller sibling: the FTA0400 records no amperage at all, so this is the one of the pair where the requirement is actually stated.
Q: Why does plate thickness matter?
A 10 mm plate stores heat. When cold product lands on it the surface temperature barely moves, so the food sears instead of stewing - and the second batch of a rush cooks like the first. It is the specification a griddle really lives or dies on.
Q: How big is the actual cooking area?
605 x 420 mm - about 70% more usable surface than the FTA0400's 355 x 420. That is the figure to plan against; the 623 mm external width includes the body around the plate.
Q: How does it compare to the FTA0400?
Plate size and supply. This is 605 x 420 mm at 3 kW on a 15 amp circuit; the FTA0400 is 355 x 420 mm at 2 kW with no amperage recorded. Same 10 mm plate, same grease pan, same 470 mm depth and 241 mm height, so it is genuinely the same griddle in two widths - but the step up also steps up the circuit.
Q: What is the manufacturer code?
Our records disagree slightly. The specification field records FTA0600, matching the SKU, while the description records FTA0600-ICE with a suffix. We publish FTA0600 and have flagged the other value; the same pattern appears on other Anvil products.
