The Anvil ICL3500 is a single-zone induction cooker with a 290 mm plate — the 'large' in its name refers to the pot it takes, and that is the reason to choose it. It runs 10 power levels from 500 to 3,500 W, 10 temperature settings from 60 to 240 °C, and a 0 to 180-minute timer with an LED display. It needs a 15 A outlet.

Why operators choose the ICE-ICL3500

  • 290 mm plate - sized for large pots — the whole point of this model. The induction field is 290 mm across, so a stockpot heats across its base rather than in a small circle. The ICD3500 double unit in the same range has 225 mm zones
  • 10 power levels, 500 to 3,500 W — genuine granularity from a gentle simmer to full output, rather than the handful of steps a basic unit gives
  • 10 temperature settings, 60 to 240 degrees C — set a temperature rather than a power level - useful for holding, and for anything where the target matters more than the rate
  • Timer 0 to 180 minutes with LED display — three hours of timed cooking with the setting visible across the kitchen
  • 15 A supply required — 3.5 kW is above a standard 10 A point - check the outlet before delivery
  • Glass hob, stainless body — the surface is not the heat source, so spills wipe rather than baking on
  • 130 mm high, 440 mm wide — low enough to work over comfortably, and it takes little bench frontage for the pot size it handles
  • 1,300 mm power cord — enough reach to find a 15 A point without an extension lead

Venue suitability

The ICL3500 suits restaurants, caterers, function kitchens and front-of-house cooking stations working with large pots — stocks, sauces, pasta water. Choose it over the double ICD3500 when pot size matters more than having two zones.

Installation & delivery

It needs a 15 A outlet. At 3.5 kW it draws about 14.6 A, above a standard 10 A point, so an electrician will need to fit one. Dimensions are recorded width x height x depth: 440 mm wide, 130 mm tall, 550 mm deep. Induction needs air movement underneath, so do not seal it into a cabinet. Check your pans: they must have a magnetic base, and a pot much wider than the 290 mm plate will heat only across the field, not the full base. Our data records no weight.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What makes this the 'large' model?

The plate. At 290 mm it takes a genuinely large pot, where the double-zone ICD3500 in the same range has 225 mm zones. If you are heating stockpots or large sauce pans, the field diameter is what determines whether the base heats evenly or only in the middle.

Q: Should I choose this or the double ICD3500?

Pot size against zone count. The ICL3500 is one 290 mm zone at up to 3.5 kW; the ICD3500 is two zones of 225 mm sharing 3.5 kW (1,800 W front, 1,700 W back). Big pots, take this one. Two things at once in normal pans, take the double. Both need a 15 A outlet.

Q: Will my pans work?

Only if they are induction-compatible - a magnet must stick firmly to the underside. Aluminium, copper and most non-magnetic stainless will not heat at all. Also match the pot to the 290 mm field: much wider and the outer base stays cool.

Q: What is the difference between the power levels and the temperature settings?

Power levels set the rate of energy going in - 10 steps from 500 to 3,500 W. Temperature settings target a temperature and modulate to hold it, from 60 to 240 degrees C. Use power for rapid work, temperature for holding or anything where the target matters more than the speed.

Q: What electrical supply does it need?

A 15 amp outlet - 3.5 kW is roughly 14.6 A, above what a standard 10 A point carries.

Q: What warranty does the ICE-ICL3500 come with?

Covered for 12 months. Our records state the duration but not whether labour is included, so confirm the exact cover with our team before ordering rather than assuming it. Terms vary by product — see our warranty information page for full details.
