The Matador TC8 is a heavy-duty meat mincer with a #8 head, rated at 80 kg an hour, with all-stainless-steel chambers designed to the latest US and EC safety standards. Two things set it apart from a basic mincer: a single-handle locking mechanism that releases the chamber for cleaning, and a reversing function to clear a jam without stripping the head. It comes with a sausage filling attachment, 6 mm and 8 mm mesh plates and a knife.
Why operators choose the TC8
- Plates, knife and sausage attachment included — 6 mm and 8 mm mesh plates, a single knife and a sausage filling attachment come with it. That is the useful working set in the box rather than three separate orders
- Reversing function — the single most useful feature on a mincer. Back the auger off a jam instead of dismantling the head mid-service
- Single-handle chamber release — the chamber comes off with one handle for cleaning. On meat equipment the ease of the daily strip-down decides whether it is done properly
- All-stainless-steel chambers — the food-contact chambers are stainless, unlike the alloy-housed AK32MG - relevant if you are specifying an all-stainless prep area
- #8 head at 80 kg/hour — sized for batch work rather than continuous production. Head size also sets which plates and knives fit
- Heat-free operation — the manufacturer's own emphasis. Heat into mince smears fat and hurts the bind
- Designed to the latest US and EC safety standards — the manufacturer's stated compliance
- 18.2 kg — a one or two-person lift, so it can come off the bench between jobs

Venue suitability
The TC8 suits butchers, delis, cafes and restaurants mincing in batches and making their own sausage — the filling attachment is included, so it does both jobs out of the box. Step up to the AK32MG if you are mincing continuously.

Installation & delivery
It runs from a standard 10 A power point, so no electrical work is required. At 550 W it draws about 2.3 A. Note that the recorded 490 mm height is measured to the top of the plunger, which is the manufacturer's own note and the figure that matters for shelf clearance. Allow clearance in front for a receiving tray. At 18.2 kg it is a manageable lift, so it can be stored off the bench.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What comes in the box?
A sausage filling attachment, 6 mm and 8 mm mesh plates and a single knife, alongside the mincer itself. That is a genuinely useful starting set - two plate sizes covers most mince work, and the sausage attachment means you do not need a separate filler for small runs.
Q: What does the reversing function do?
It runs the auger backwards so you can back product off a jam rather than dismantling the head. On a busy bench that is the difference between ten seconds and ten minutes.
Q: Should I choose the TC8 or the AK32MG?
Volume. The TC8 has a #8 head at 80 kg/hour on 550 W; the AK32MG has a #32 head at 200 kg/hour on 900 W. Occasional batches - TC8, and it includes plates, a knife and a sausage attachment. Continuous mincing - AK32MG. They also differ on warranty: the TC8 is return to base, the AK32MG is parts and labour.
Q: What power does it need?
550 W at 240 V, which runs from a standard 10 A power point - the actual draw is about 2.3 A. Our data also records an '8 A' figure alongside the 550 W, and those two do not reconcile (8 A at 240 V would be roughly 1,900 W), so we publish the wattage and the real draw and have flagged the amperage for correction.
Q: Why is the height measured to the plunger?
Because that is the tallest point in use, and it is the manufacturer's own note on the specification. Measure your shelf clearance against the 490 mm figure rather than the body of the machine.
Q: What warranty does the TC8 come with?
Covered for 1 year on a return-to-base basis — the unit goes back for service rather than a technician attending site. Terms vary by product — see our warranty information page for full details.
