The Mecnosud BDM0015A is an automatic hydraulic bun divider producing 15 balls per cycle, from 15 x 150 g (2.25 kg of dough) up to 15 x 350 g (5.25 kg). It is PLC controlled with up to 10 storable work programs and a dedicated button for cleaning the knives. It comes with three food-grade PETG plates and stainless steel knives, and has a 400 mm head.
Why operators choose the ICE-BDM0015A
- 15 balls per cycle, 150 g to 350 g each — the working range covers a dinner roll through to a large bun. The count is fixed at 15; the weight follows how much dough you charge
- PLC with up to 10 stored programs — set your products once and select them. On a machine used by different staff across a week that is what keeps bun weight consistent
- A button dedicated to cleaning the knives — a purpose-built cleaning cycle rather than a manual strip-down. On a machine with stainless knives working dough, that is the maintenance step most often skipped
- Hydraulic movement — even pressure across the head, which is what gives 15 balls of the same weight rather than a heavy edge and a light middle
- Three PETG plates supplied — food-grade plates in the box - a genuine part of the working fit-out
- Stainless steel knives — the cutting parts are stainless, and they are the parts that touch dough all day
- Bowl capacity 5.3 kg — just above the 5.25 kg maximum charge, so the bowl is sized to the job rather than oversized
- 400 mm head diameter — the working dimension, and what determines the ball spacing
- Three phase, supplied without a plug — installation by a qualified electrician is required

Venue suitability
The BDM0015A suits bakeries, hot-bread shops and production kitchens making buns and rolls in volume. Fifteen identical balls a cycle at a weight you set is what makes a tray bake evenly — and the stored programs are what keep that true when different staff run the machine.

Installation & delivery
This is a three-phase machine supplied without a plug, and the manufacturer requires installation by a qualified electrician. If three phase is not already at your premises, price that work before committing — it can exceed the cost of the machine. The load is small at 0.75 kW; the supply type is the issue. It is a 653 mm square footprint at 1,465 mm tall — check ceiling and door heights. Allow working room at the front to charge the bowl and remove the divided balls, and site it near a wash-down point so the knife-cleaning cycle is actually used. Our data records no weight for this model.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What size buns will it make?
Fifteen at a time, from 150 g to 350 g each. The division count is fixed at 15 - the finished ball weight is determined by how much dough you charge, from 2.25 kg at the light end to 5.25 kg at the heavy end.
Q: What do the stored programs do?
The PLC holds up to 10 work programs, so each of your products can be selected rather than set up. The practical benefit is consistency across staff and shifts: the machine does not care who is operating it.
Q: How is it cleaned?
There is a dedicated button for cleaning the knives, which runs a cleaning movement rather than requiring the head to be stripped. That matters because knife cleaning on a dough machine is the maintenance step most often skipped, and dough setting on a blade is what dulls it.
Q: What comes with it?
Three food-grade PETG plates and stainless steel knives. The plates are part of the working fit-out rather than accessories.
Q: What electrical work is required?
400 V three phase at 0.75 kW, supplied without a plug, installation by a qualified electrician. The load is small but the supply type is not negotiable - price three-phase work before ordering if you do not have it.
Q: What warranty does the ICE-BDM0015A come with?
Covered for 12 months. Our records state the duration but not whether labour is included, so confirm the exact cover with our team before ordering rather than assuming it. Terms vary by product — see our warranty information page for full details.
