The Modular Systems Mobile Workbench (WBM7) is a 304 stainless steel prep bench on lockable castors, built for kitchens that need a clean, repositionable work surface at the right height. The 700 mm deep × 900 mm high bench is available in seven widths from 600 mm to 2,400 mm, the top is lined with XPS board and backed with a SUS430 panel, and 'U' channel reinforcements run underneath to keep the surface rigid under heavy prep loads.
Why operators choose the Modular Systems Mobile Workbench
- Lockable castors on all four legs — roll the bench to where it's needed, then lock it in place so it stays put during prep
- 304 stainless steel, 1.2 mm thick with hairline finish — corrosion-resistant surface that holds up to commercial cleaning and daily use
- XPS board + SUS430 panel benchtop lining — adds rigidity and reduces drumming, keeping the surface flat and quiet under load
- 'U' channel reinforcements underneath — structural support that scales with bench width; larger sizes carry more channels to match the span
- Seven width options, 600 mm to 2,400 mm — right-size the bench to the prep station rather than compromising on space
- Flat-packed with instruction manual and tools included — site assembly is fast and needs no specialist trades

Venue suitability
The lockable-castor design makes this bench a strong choice wherever a prep surface needs to move — small commercial kitchens where a single space serves multiple functions throughout the day, catering operations that reconfigure between events, and food-truck or pop-up setups where the bench travels with the kitchen. The 900 mm standing height is standard commercial ergonomics, so it integrates cleanly alongside fixed equipment. It is not a shelved or skirted bench, so venues that need under-bench storage should consider a splashback or drawer variant from the same Modular Systems range.

Frequently asked questions
What width options are available?
Seven sizes: 600, 900, 1,200, 1,500, 1,800, 2,100, and 2,400 mm — all 700 mm deep and 900 mm high. For sizing help, see our stainless steel bench size guide and work tables guide.
Are the castors lockable?
Yes. All castors are lockable; on standard models the front two are the primary brake castors. Lock them once the bench is in position to keep it stable during prep.
What grade of stainless steel is used?
The benchtop and legs are SUS304 (18/8) stainless steel, 1.2 mm thick with a hairline finish — the same grade used across commercial catering fit-outs for corrosion resistance and cleanability.
Does it arrive assembled?
No — it ships flat-packed for easier transport, but the package includes an instruction manual and all required assembly tools. Assembly is designed to be quick and straightforward on-site.
What warranty applies?
The Modular Systems Mobile Workbench carries a 2-year parts-only warranty. See the warranty information page for full terms and conditions.
Do the 2,100 mm and 2,400 mm models have extra support?
Yes — wider models use six legs instead of four, and the number of 'U' channel reinforcements under the benchtop increases with the span to maintain rigidity.
