The Nemco NEC0002 Easy Chopper II is a lever-operated bench dicer that pushes whole produce through a fixed blade grid and delivers a 9mm square dice in a single stroke. It is the middle grid of the three, and the one most kitchens run as their default. The machine is entirely manual — no power, no outlet and no electrician — and stands 512 mm tall on a 250 x 250 mm footprint, so it takes a small square of bench and no services at all.

Why operators choose the NEC0002

  • 9mm square dice, fixed — the general-purpose dice. Big enough to read as a diced vegetable on the plate and small enough to cook evenly - the standard size for salads, stir-fries, soups, omelettes and sandwich fillings
  • One stroke per piece — the lever multiplies hand pressure through the grid, so a whole onion, potato or capsicum goes through in a single push rather than being worked down with a knife
  • Consistent dice, shift after shift — a fixed grid does not vary with who is on the section. That is what makes yields and cook times predictable, and it is the reason a dicer earns its bench space
  • Small square footprint — 250 x 250 mm of bench. It stands tall rather than wide, so it fits between other equipment on a crowded prep line
  • 4 kg net — light enough to lift down and strip for a proper wash, rather than being cleaned in place because nobody can move it
  • No services required — no power, no outlet and no electrician. Nothing to add to a switchboard and nothing to commission

Venue suitability

The default choice for a kitchen buying one dicer rather than three - a salad bar, a sandwich or wrap counter, a cafe running soups and omelettes, a pub kitchen, or a catering operation dicing onion, capsicum and potato across several menus. Step down to the 6 mm grid for sauces and salsas, or up to the 12 mm for stews and roasts.

Installation & delivery

Nothing to connect. Allow a 250 x 250 mm square of bench and, more importantly, clearance above the 512 mm body for the lever to rise through its full stroke — check this before you site it under a wall shelf or an overhead rack, because the lever travel is what catches people out on a tall bench dicer. The unit is manual, so there is no outlet, no switchboard work and no electrician. At 4 kg it lifts down easily for washing. Dispatched Australia-wide.

Also available as the NEC0004 in a 6 mm dice and the NEC0003 in a 12 mm dice.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Can this machine cut other sizes?

No. The Easy Chopper II is a fixed-grid dicer and each machine cuts one size only - this one cuts 9mm. Nemco covers the other sizes with separate machines, so choose the grid that matches the dice you actually run.

Q: Does it need power?

No. It is a manual lever machine throughout. No motor, no lead, no plug - so no outlet, no switchboard work and no electrician are needed to put it into service.

Q: Which of the three grids should I choose?

Match it to the plate. The 9 mm grid on this machine is the general-purpose size - it reads as a diced vegetable, cooks evenly, and suits salads, stir-fries, soups and sandwich fillings. Choose the 6 mm for fine sauce and salsa work, or the 12 mm where you want the dice to hold its shape in a stew or a roast.

Q: How much clearance does it need above the bench?

The body is 512 mm tall and the lever travels above that, so measure your overhead clearance before siting it. A bench under a low wall shelf is the usual place this goes wrong.

Q: How is it cleaned?

At 4 kg it is light enough to lift down and strip rather than wiping it in place. Follow the manufacturer's instructions supplied with the machine for the blade grid, which is the part that needs care.

Q: What warranty does it carry?

Twelve months, back to base. That means a warranty repair is done at the service agent's workshop and the machine is returned to you, rather than a technician coming to your site. Full terms are on our warranty information page.
