The Nemco NEO0001 Easy Onion Slicer II cuts 4.6 mm slices and takes produce up to 100 mm in diameter — which is the specification that actually decides whether this machine suits you, because it sets the largest onion or orange it will accept. The supplier rates it for onions, oranges and most other firm produce. At 750 mm tall it is the tallest machine in the Nemco manual range we carry, and it is fully manual: no power, no outlet and no electrician.
Why operators choose the NEO0001
- Takes produce up to 100 mm diameter — the number to check before you buy. A large brown onion or a navel orange can exceed 100 mm, so measure what you actually buy rather than assuming a standard size will fit
- 4.6 mm slice — a thin, even ring - the size for burger and sandwich service, onion rings for the fryer, and citrus for garnish and drinks service
- Rated beyond onions — the supplier names oranges and most other firm produce as well, so it is not a single-purpose machine despite the name
- 750 mm tall on a 250 x 475 mm footprint — tall and narrow rather than wide. It occupies very little bench, but the height needs checking against overhead shelving before you site it
- 10 kg net — the heaviest machine in this Nemco range and built to stay on a dedicated prep station rather than move between sections
- No electrical services — no power, no outlet and no electrician, so it can go on any bench regardless of where the outlets are

Venue suitability
Built for a section slicing onion in volume every day - a burger bar, a kebab or souvlaki shop, a pub kitchen prepping rings for the fryer, a sandwich counter, or a function kitchen. It doubles as a citrus slicer for drinks service, which is worth knowing in a venue that runs both a kitchen and a bar off the same prep area.

Installation & delivery
Nothing to connect. The footprint is modest at 250 x 475 mm, but the body stands 750 mm tall and the handle travels above that — so overhead clearance, not bench area, is the constraint on this machine. Check it against wall shelves and overhead racks before you choose a position. At 10 kg it is best given a permanent home. There is no outlet, no switchboard work and no electrician in the commissioning. Dispatched Australia-wide.

Frequently asked questions
Q: How big an onion will it take?
Up to 100 mm in diameter. That is the limiting specification on this machine, and it is worth measuring the onions you actually buy - large brown onions and navel oranges can exceed 100 mm, and anything over that will not seat correctly.
Q: How thick is the slice?
4.6 mm, which is a thin even ring suited to burgers, sandwiches, onion rings for the fryer and citrus garnish. The thickness is fixed; there is no adjustment.
Q: Can it slice anything besides onions?
Yes. The supplier rates it for oranges and most other firm produce as well as onions. Soft or very ripe produce is not what it is built for.
Q: Does it need power?
No. It is fully manual - no motor, no lead, no plug. No outlet, no switchboard work and no electrician are involved.
Q: How much clearance does it need?
The body is 750 mm tall and the handle rises above that, so this is the one machine in the range where overhead clearance is likely to decide where it can go. Measure before siting it under a shelf.
Q: What warranty does it carry?
Twelve months, back to base - the machine goes to the service agent's workshop for a warranty repair and is returned to you, rather than a technician attending site. Full terms are on our warranty information page.
