Orved Evox 25 Vacuum Sealer

The Orved VMO0025 is a chamber vacuum sealer with a 4 m3/h pump, a 303 x 293 x 110 mm chamber and a 260mm sealing bar. A chamber machine evacuates the whole chamber rather than the bag mouth, so it handles liquids and runs on plain flat pouches.

Q: Is this big enough for sous-vide?

It depends on your portion size. The chamber is 303 x 293 x 110 mm and the seal bar is 260 mm, so bags up to 260 mm wide laid flat. The 110 mm internal height is the figure that catches people out - check the depth of your product, not just its footprint. It does have a dedicated cooking vacuum level, so it is built with sous-vide in mind.

Q: What do the two vacuum levels do?

One is a shallower storage vacuum that will not crush delicate product, the other a deeper cooking vacuum for sous-vide where you want full contact between bag and food. Having both is unusual at this size.

Q: How does the 4m3/h pump compare to the rest of the range?

It is the entry point. Across the Orved chamber machines the pump steps 4, 8, 16, 20 and 60 m3/h - this is the 4. A bigger pump means a shorter cycle and a deeper achievable vacuum, so the ladder is the thing to choose on if throughput matters more than footprint.

Q: Can it handle liquids?

Yes. That is the point of a chamber machine over a channel sealer - the whole chamber is evacuated, so there is no pressure differential pulling liquid out of the bag.
