Nothing to install - this is a single-use disposable supplied as a carton of 150. The carton measures 540 x 200 x 546 mm with a gross weight of 4.8 kg. Freight on a light, bulky carton like this is calculated on its cubic volume rather than its gross weight, so the shipping weight shown at checkout is the higher of the two. Store flat and dry.

Q: Does the Combo include a lid?

We cannot tell you for certain, and we would rather say so than guess. The SKU is named a Combo, and all three of the supplier's photographs show a clear dome lid fitted to the bowl - we viewed every one of them. But the supplier's written description covers the bowl only, never states whether a lid is supplied with it, and names no separate lid SKU anywhere. Please confirm with our team before ordering if a lid is part of what you need, rather than assuming either way from the product name or the photographs.

Q: Can it hold hot food?

No. The recorded temperature range is -20 to +60 degrees C, which covers chilled display and freezing but stops well short of hot service. PET softens and distorts before it gets to hot holding temperature. The supplier describes it for salads, fruit, desserts and other chilled ready-to-eat dishes, and that is what we would use it for. Q: Is this bowl FSC certified?

The supplier records an FSC certification against this bowl and we have published it exactly as recorded. We want to be straight with you about it, though: FSC certifies forest and plant fibre, and this bowl is PET plastic, which contains none. We have flagged the record with the supplier. Q: Why only 150 per carton when the cups come 2,000?

Because a rigid PET bowl does not nest the way a moulded fibre cup does. The carton is 540 x 200 x 546 mm at 4.8 kg gross - very light for its size, which is exactly what a stack of rigid bowls looks like. Freight on a carton like this is calculated on its volume rather than its weight, so factor that in when you compare the cost per serve against a fibre product.

Q: Is the 175 mm figure a diameter?

The supplier records it as "175mm" with no diameter symbol, where every other round item in this PakMax range records its top size with one. We have published it exactly as recorded rather than adding a symbol the source does not carry. Given the bowl is round, a diameter is the obvious reading - but if you are matching it to a lid, a holder or a display well, ask our team to confirm it with the supplier first.
