Freight on a light, bulky carton like this is calculated on its cubic volume rather than its gross weight, so the shipping weight shown at checkout is the higher of the two. Store flat and dry.

Q: How big a serve does it actually hold?

The supplier records a brim fill capacity of 32 oz, which is 946 mL, and a top opening of 92 x 72 mm with a height of 110 mm. Brim fill is measured to the very top of the box, so plan a working serve below that - a fold-top pail has to close over the food. All three PakMax pail sizes come 400 to a carton, so stepping up a size changes your cost per serve and your storage volume, not your order quantity.

Q: How does it compare with the other two pail sizes?

The range runs 16 oz (473 mL), 26 oz (769 mL) and 32 oz (946 mL), and all three are 400 to a carton with the same paperboard, the same coating and the same white finish. This is the 32 oz: the largest, and the only one deep enough for a full main with sides. One thing to watch: the supplier records a temperature range against the 16 oz only, and we have not copied it onto this size. See the temperature answer below.

Q: What temperature is it rated to?

The supplier records no temperature range for this SKU. It does record one for the 16 oz FP-16W in the same range (-20 to +90 degrees C), and the two products are described identically in every other respect - but we have deliberately not carried that figure across. A rating recorded against one SKU is not a rating for another, and temperature is exactly the kind of spec where borrowing would be a mis-sale. If you need the rating in writing, ask our team and we will get it from the supplier.

Q: Can it go in a microwave or an oven?

The supplier does not say, and we will not guess on a paperboard product. It describes the construction as heat resistant and lists hot dishes such as noodles, curries and rice, which is about holding and transporting hot food rather than cooking it. FSC certifies that wood and plant fibre comes from responsibly managed forests, so on a paperboard product the claim is a coherent one - which is not true of every item in this PakMax range, since the supplier records the same line against the clear plastic lids and bowls as well.
