The PakMax CS-88 is an 8 x 8 inch hinged sugarcane clamshell container, 220 x 200 mm across the top, supplied in a carton of 200. It is a single undivided compartment sized for a main meal, and it is recyclable, oil and moisture resistant and finished in natural off-white.

Freight on a light, bulky carton like this is calculated on its cubic volume rather than its gross weight, so the shipping weight shown at checkout is the higher of the two. Store flat and dry.

Q: What is the difference between the CS-88 and the CS-883?

The compartments, and nothing else that is recorded. The CS-88 is a single undivided compartment and the CS-883 has three. Every other figure the supplier records for the two is identical - the same 220 x 200 mm top, the same 44/75 mm height, the same 200 per carton, the same 450 x 290 x 210 mm carton at 8.1 kg gross, and the same list price. That is plausible for a moulded divider that does not change the outside of the box, and the supplier's own photographs of the two do show the difference, but we are noting it because two products agreeing on every number is worth knowing about.

Q: How many containers come in a carton?

Two hundred. The carton measures 450 x 290 x 210 mm with a gross weight of 8.1 kg. That is the smallest carton quantity in the PakMax clamshell range we carry, so the cost per serve works out differently from the 6 x 6 inch at 500.

Q: What is the 44/75 mm height?

That is exactly how the supplier records it, as two figures separated by a slash with no explanation of which is which. We have published it as recorded rather than choosing one. If the exact closed height matters for your bags or shelving, ask our team to confirm it with the supplier.

Q: Is this compostable or recyclable?

The supplier describes this product as recyclable, and that is what we have published. Note that it is a different claim from the one on the PakMax sugarcane food containers in the same range, which the supplier describes as compostable under commercial conditions. Recycling and commercial composting are different waste streams, so we have kept each product's own wording rather than harmonising them. Check which stream your venue and your council actually have before you print an environmental claim of your own.

Q: Is it FSC certified?

The supplier records an FSC certification against this product and we have published it as recorded. FSC certifies forest and plant fibre, so the claim is coherent for a moulded fibre product. We have not seen the certificate ourselves - if you need the certification number for your own compliance or tender documentation, ask our team and we will request it from the supplier.

Q: What warranty applies?
