The PakMax CS-993 is a 9 x 9 inch hinged sugarcane clamshell with three compartments, 235 x 230 mm across the top, supplied in a carton of 200. The divided base keeps a main and two sides apart inside a closed container, and it is recyclable, oil and moisture resistant and finished in natural off-white.

Installation & delivery

Nothing to install - this is a single-use disposable supplied as a carton of 200. The carton measures 480 x 290 x 240 mm with a gross weight of 8.9 kg. Freight on a light, bulky carton like this is calculated on its cubic volume rather than its gross weight, so the shipping weight shown at checkout is the higher of the two. Store flat and dry.

Frequently asked questions

Q: Why does this product have fewer photographs than usual?

Because one of the three images the supplier publishes against this SKU shows an undivided container, not a three-compartment one. It is the same photograph the supplier also serves on the undivided CS-99 and on the 8 x 8 inch CS-88, and we checked that by comparing the image files themselves rather than their filenames. We have not attached it. You are seeing the images we could confirm show this product, and we have asked the supplier for a correct one.

Q: What is the difference between the CS-993 and the CS-99?

The compartments, and nothing else that is recorded. This one has three; the CS-99 is a single undivided compartment. Every other figure the supplier records is identical - the same 235 x 230 mm top, the same 50/80 mm height, the same 200 per carton, the same 480 x 290 x 240 mm carton at 8.9 kg gross, and the same list price. A moulded divider does not change the outside of the box, so that is plausible, but two products agreeing on every number is worth knowing about.

Q: What is the 50/80 mm height?

That is exactly how the supplier records it, as two figures separated by a slash with no explanation of which is which. We have published it as recorded rather than choosing one. If the exact closed height matters for your bags or shelving, ask our team to confirm it with the supplier.

Q: Is this compostable or recyclable?

The supplier describes this product as recyclable, and that is what we have published. Note that it is a different claim from the one on the PakMax sugarcane food containers in the same range, which the supplier describes as compostable under commercial conditions. Recycling and commercial composting are different waste streams, so we have kept each product's own wording rather than harmonising them. Check which stream your venue and your council actually have before you print an environmental claim of your own.

Q: Is it FSC certified?

The supplier records an FSC certification against this product and we have published it as recorded. FSC certifies forest and plant fibre, so the claim is coherent for a moulded fibre product. We have not seen the certificate ourselves - if you need the certification number for your own compliance or tender documentation, ask our team and we will request it from the supplier.

Q: Are the recorded dimensions the item or the carton?

The Width, Depth and Height recorded against this product match the carton size stated in the supplier description exactly, which is how we can say it with certainty rather than assuming it.
