The PakMax LT-61 is a six-compartment lunch tray made from sugarcane bagasse — the fibre left over after sugar is pressed from the cane — supplied in cartons of 300. Each tray measures 281 x 221 mm and 45 mm deep. It is compostable under commercial conditions, oil and moisture resistant, and rigid enough to carry a full meal without flexing.
Why operators choose the LT-61
- Six compartments — mains, sides and condiments stay separate. That is what makes portion control possible and keeps a wet component from running into a dry one before the meal is eaten
- 300 trays per carton — recorded explicitly in our data, so your cost per meal is calculable
- 281 x 221 mm, 45 mm deep — the actual tray size - recorded for this model, which is not true of every tray in the range
- Compostable, not merely recyclable — bagasse breaks down under commercial composting conditions. That is a different waste stream from recycling, and it only works if commercial composting is actually available to you or your customers
- Made from a by-product — bagasse is what is left after sugar extraction, so the raw material is a waste stream being used rather than a crop grown for packaging
- Oil and moisture resistant — naturally, without a plastic lining - which is what allows it to stay compostable
- Suits hot and cold dishes — the tray holds its structure either way
- Lightweight and stackable — 300 to a carton, and they stack in service
- FSC certified — recorded against this product in our data

Venue suitability
This tray suits caterers, school and workplace meal programs, meal-prep operations and takeaway venues serving a main with sides. Six compartments is a genuinely divided meal — if you need five, the LT-51 in the same range is the five-compartment version.

Installation & delivery
The dimensions recorded against this product are the CARTON, not the item. We can state that with certainty here because the source lists the carton size explicitly and it matches the dimensions field exactly. The carton measures 440 x 290 x 300 mm and holds 300 trays; the tray itself is 281 x 221 mm and 45 mm deep, and both figures are recorded separately for this model. Store somewhere dry. Compostable packaging only composts where commercial composting is available — in a general waste bin it behaves like any other waste, so it is worth knowing what your venue or your customers actually have access to before the claim goes on your menu.
Frequently asked questions
Q: How many trays are in a carton?
300. Recorded explicitly in our product data for this item.
Q: What size is each tray?
281 x 221 mm, and 45 mm deep. Those are the tray's own dimensions - recorded separately from the carton size for this model, which is not the case for every tray in the range.
Q: What is the difference between this and the LT-51?
The number of compartments. The LT-61 has six; the LT-51 has five. They are different trays with different carton sizes, so check the compartment count against how you plate rather than assuming they are interchangeable.
Q: Is compostable the same as recyclable?
No, and the difference is practical. Bagasse composts under commercial composting conditions - it does not go into the recycling stream, and in landfill it behaves much like other waste. If you want to make a genuine environmental claim to customers, confirm that commercial composting is actually available to your venue or your customers first. Note that other PakMax lines are recyclable rather than compostable, so the correct claim differs by product.
Q: Are the dimensions listed the tray or the carton?
Both are recorded, separately. The tray is 281 x 221 x 45 mm; the 440 x 290 x 300 mm figure in our dimensions field is the carton, which the source lists explicitly.
Q: What warranty does the LT-61 come with?
Our records do not carry a specific warranty term for this item. Terms vary by product — see our warranty information page for full details.
