The Prismafood DSAT420 is a pizza dough roller with a patented Touch & Go automatic start — sensors detect the dough at the input slot and the machine starts itself, so the operator's hands never go near a running roller. Working time is settable from 10 to 35 seconds and the machine stops itself at the end, which saves energy and reduces wear. Thickness adjusts from 0 to 4 mm with a knob on each roller, and a central sling bar makes it suited to round bases.

Why operators choose the DSAT420

  • Patented Touch & Go automatic start — the machine starts when it senses dough at the input slot. That means the operator is never reaching towards a running roller - a genuine safety design rather than a convenience feature
  • Settable working time, 10 to 35 seconds — the machine stops itself at the end of the set time. Less energy, less wear on the mechanical components, and no operator standing over it
  • Thickness 0 to 4 mm, adjustable on BOTH rollers — independent knobs mean you set each pass rather than accepting one gap - which is how you get an even base from a two-stage roll
  • Central sling bar for round bases — the feature that makes it suited to round pizza specifically rather than just flattening dough
  • Tilted upper roller — feeds dough into the nip consistently instead of letting it bunch at the entry
  • Transparent plexiglass roller protection — you can see the rollers while they are guarded - safety without working blind
  • Gear transmission — gears rather than belts on a machine doing a repetitive, loaded job
  • 250 W on a standard 10 A outlet — a modest supply for a 37 kg machine - no electrical work required

Venue suitability

The DSAT420 suits pizzerias, cafes and bakeries rolling bases to order or in batches. The automatic start is what makes it suitable for a kitchen with turnover in staff — there is no sequence to learn and no reason for anyone to put a hand near the rollers.

Installation & delivery

It runs from a standard 10 A power point, so no electrical work is required. At 250 W it draws about 1 A. Allow 585 x 435 mm of bench plus space at the infeed to present dough and at the discharge to collect the base — the footprint alone is not the working space. At 37 kg it is a one or two-person lift onto a bench. Site it within the pizza section rather than across the kitchen: the point of a 10-second cycle is that the base goes straight onto the bench for topping.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What does Touch & Go actually do?

Sensors at the input slot detect the dough and start the machine automatically, then it stops itself at the end of the set time. The operator presents dough and takes a base - they never reach towards a running roller and never hold a button. On a machine with two powered rollers that is a real safety improvement, not just convenience.

Q: Why does a settable working time matter?

Three reasons the manufacturer gives, all of them real: energy, because the machine only runs for the time set; operator time, because nobody has to stand and watch it; and mechanical wear, because the rollers are not turning when there is nothing between them. You set it between 10 and 35 seconds with the TIME SET button.

Q: How thin will it roll?

From 0 to 4 mm, and importantly the thickness knob is on BOTH rollers rather than just one. That lets you set a two-stage roll - a first pass to spread and a second to finish - which gives a more even base than forcing dough through one gap.

Q: Is it suitable for round pizza specifically?

Yes. The central sling bar is what makes the difference - it works the dough towards a round shape rather than simply flattening it into a sheet. A roller without one produces an oval or rectangular base.

Q: Does it need special wiring?

No. 250 W at 240 V from a standard 10 A power point. Note that this is worth checking against our DSA500RP listing, whose power figure we believe is a data error - this machine's 250 W is the plausible figure for the range.

Q: What warranty does the DSAT420 come with?

Covered for 2 years parts and labour. Terms vary by product — see our warranty information page for full details.
