The Thermaster SC248SD is a 900 mm double sliding door drink cooler holding 133 litres net at 2 to 8C, running a Zanussi compressor behind fan-forced evaporator cooling. Sliding doors keep the walkway clear behind a bar, and they are double-glazed, self-closing and lockable. Remove the castors and it drops to 880 mm, which makes it under-bench capable.
Why operators choose the SC248SD
- Under-bench capable with the castors removed — 900 mm on castors, 880 mm without — the difference between a freestanding unit and one that builds into a bar run
- Zanussi compressor — a named, serviceable compressor brand rather than an unspecified unit, which matters in five years
- Double sliding doors — nothing swings into the service area, and staff can open one side without blocking the other
- Double-glazed self-closing doors with locks — cuts heat gain and condensation, closes itself if left, and locks in a public area
- 133 L net from 202 L gross — real bottle and can capacity in a 900 mm cabinet
- Two levels of adjustable shelving plus the floor — three tiers, reconfigurable as stock changes
- Rated to 32C ambient at 75% RH — specified for a working bar rather than a cool cellar
- Digital temperature control with read-out — set it and see it, plus auto defrost so there is no cycle to schedule

Venue suitability
The SC248SD suits bars, pubs, clubs, cafes and hotel service areas needing cold stock at the pour. Its 112 W draw is very low for a glass-door cooler, and the option to remove the castors and build it under a counter makes it more flexible than its footprint suggests.

Installation & delivery
It runs from a standard 240 V, 10 A outlet, so no dedicated circuit or electrician is needed. It requires 100 mm of wall clearance for ventilation. If you are building it in under a bench, removing the castors takes the height from 900 mm to 880 mm — check your cavity against the figure you will actually be installing at. Dispatched from our Sydney HQ with partner warehouses in Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth for faster delivery Australia-wide. Backed by a 2-year parts and labour warranty, plus a further 2 years parts only when the product is registered within 14 days of invoice — see our warranty information page for full terms.
Frequently asked questions
Q: Can the SC248SD go under a bench? A: Yes, if the castors are removed. It is 900mm high on castors and 880mm without, so measure your cavity against the 880mm figure.
Q: What is the usable capacity? A: 133 litres net, from a 202 litre gross volume, across two adjustable shelf levels plus the floor.
Q: Why sliding doors? A: Behind a bar there is rarely room for a door to swing. Sliding doors keep the walkway clear and let staff open one side without blocking the other.
Q: What compressor does it use? A: A Zanussi compressor. Naming the compressor matters for parts and service years down the track, which is not something an unspecified unit gives you.
Q: How much clearance does it need? A: 100mm of wall clearance for ventilation. Any tighter and the condenser cannot shed heat, which costs both temperature stability and unit life.
Q: What warranty applies? A: Two years parts and labour, plus a further two years parts only if you register the product within 14 days of invoice.
