The Yasaki FS30M is a 35 litre spiral mixer taking a maximum of 12 kg of flour, running two speeds at 150 and 200 rpm. It is the smallest in Yasaki's spiral range and the one that matters most practically: at 1.5 kW it runs from a standard 10 A outlet, where every larger model in the range needs either a 15 A point or a three-phase supply. Bowl, hook and shaft are stainless steel.

Why operators choose the FS30M

  • Runs from a standard 10 A outlet — 1.5 kW is about 6.3 A. This is the only mixer in the Yasaki spiral range that needs no electrical work at all - the 40 L and 54 L need a 15 A point and everything above is three phase
  • 35 litre bowl, 12 kg maximum flour — the flour figure is the one to plan against. Bowl litres tell you what fits; the flour rating tells you what the motor will actually drive
  • Two speeds at 150 and 200 rpm — a slow speed to bring the dough together and a fast speed to develop it. A single-speed mixer forces a compromise between the two, and on bread dough that shows in the crumb
  • Stainless steel bowl, hook and shaft — the three parts that touch dough all day. Stainless on all three is the difference between a machine that survives daily wash-down and one that pits
  • Schneider contactor — a named-brand electrical component rather than an unspecified one - it is the part that switches the motor thousands of times and the usual first failure on a cheap mixer
  • Digital display — speed and operation read rather than guessed
  • Overheat protector — a spiral mixer working stiff dough draws hard. Thermal protection is what stops an overloaded batch becoming a motor replacement
  • Stainless steel cover with safety guard — the guard is interlocked into the machine's operation, not an afterthought
  • Heavy-duty castors — the machine can be rolled out for cleaning behind it, which on a floor-standing mixer is the difference between that happening and not
  • Fixed head — the bowl and head do not tilt. Simpler and more rigid than a tilting design, at the cost of a more awkward unload

Venue suitability

The FS30M suits pizzerias, cafes and small bakeries mixing up to 12 kg of flour a batch. It is the entry point to the range and the only model that plugs into a standard outlet — if your batches are growing, check the 15 A requirement on the 40 L before assuming the next size up is a like-for-like swap.

Installation & delivery

Standard 10 A outlet — 1.5 kW is roughly 6.3 A, so no electrical work is required. Dimensions are recorded width x depth x height: 425 mm wide, 750 mm deep, 1,000 mm tall, and it weighs 110 kg — plan the delivery path and check any upper-floor placement. It packs at 480 x 770 x 1,090 mm. It rolls on castors once in place, so leave room to pull it out for cleaning behind.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What electrical supply does it need?

A standard 10 amp outlet. At 1.5 kW it draws about 6.3 amps, so no electrical work is needed. That is worth knowing because it is the only model in this range you can say that about - the 40 L and 54 L both require a 15 amp point, and the 100 L and above are three phase.

Q: How much dough will it make?

Up to 12 kg of flour per batch, in a 35 litre bowl. Work from the flour figure rather than the bowl volume: the bowl tells you what physically fits, the flour rating tells you what the motor is rated to drive. Overloading a spiral mixer is how the drive gets damaged.

Q: Why two speeds?

Slow to bring the ingredients together without throwing flour, fast to develop the gluten. 150 rpm and 200 rpm here. A single-speed machine makes you compromise between those two jobs, and on bread dough the difference shows up in the crumb.

Q: Does the head tilt?

No - this is a fixed-head machine, so the bowl and head stay in place and you lift the dough out. Fixed heads are more rigid and simpler mechanically; the trade-off is a more awkward unload than a tilting-head design.

Q: Is the model number the bowl size?

No, and it is worth flagging. This is the FS30M and its bowl is 35 litres. The same applies across the range - the FS50M is a 54 litre machine. Order by the litre figure and the flour rating rather than the model number.
