The Yasaki FS50M is a 54 litre spiral mixer taking a maximum of 20 kg of flour, running two speeds at 150 and 200 rpm. It needs a 15 A outlet at 3 kW. It is the largest single-phase machine in Yasaki's spiral range — the next size up is three phase — and it shares its cabinet size and motor with the 40 litre model.
Why operators choose the FS50M
- The largest single-phase mixer in the range — above this, Yasaki's spiral models move to a 415 V three-phase supply. If you want to avoid three-phase installation, this is the ceiling
- 54 litre bowl, 20 kg maximum flour — the flour rating is what the motor is rated to drive; the bowl volume only describes what fits
- A 15 A outlet is required — 3 kW is about 12.5 A, over what a standard 10 A point carries
- Two speeds at 150 and 200 rpm — a slow speed to bring the dough together and a fast speed to develop it. A single-speed mixer forces a compromise between the two, and on bread dough that shows in the crumb
- Stainless steel bowl, hook and shaft — the three parts that touch dough all day. Stainless on all three is the difference between a machine that survives daily wash-down and one that pits
- Schneider contactor — a named-brand electrical component rather than an unspecified one - it is the part that switches the motor thousands of times and the usual first failure on a cheap mixer
- Digital display — speed and operation read rather than guessed
- Overheat protector — a spiral mixer working stiff dough draws hard. Thermal protection is what stops an overloaded batch becoming a motor replacement
- Stainless steel cover with safety guard — the guard is interlocked into the machine's operation, not an afterthought
- Heavy-duty castors — the machine can be rolled out for cleaning behind it, which on a floor-standing mixer is the difference between that happening and not
- Fixed head — the bowl and head do not tilt. Simpler and more rigid than a tilting design, at the cost of a more awkward unload

Venue suitability
The FS50M suits bakeries and pizzerias mixing 20 kg flour batches, and is the practical ceiling for anyone who does not want three-phase power. Its recorded footprint and motor are the same as the 40 litre model in the range, so the decision between them is bowl volume and 4 kg of flour rather than space or wiring.

Installation & delivery
A 15 A outlet is required — 3 kW is about 12.5 A. Dimensions are recorded width x depth x height: 480 mm wide, 840 mm deep, 1,000 mm tall, weighing 170 kg. It packs at 600 x 960 x 1,130 mm. Note that the recorded dimensions are identical to the 40 litre FS40M despite the larger bowl — if the footprint is critical to your layout, ask us to confirm it against the supplier's drawing before you commit.
Warranty terms are per product — see our warranty information page.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What electrical supply does it need?
A 15 amp outlet - 3 kW is roughly 12.5 amps, above what a standard 10 amp point carries. This is the largest single-phase machine in the range; the 100 L and above are recorded as 415 V three phase, which is a much bigger installation job.
Q: How does it compare to the 40 litre model?
The recorded footprint (480 x 840 x 1000 mm), the 3 kW motor, the 15 amp requirement and the two speeds are all identical. What differs is bowl volume (54 L against 40 L), maximum flour (20 kg against 16 kg) and weight (170 kg against 155 kg). We would flag that an identical cabinet holding a 14 litre larger bowl is worth confirming with us if the exact dimensions matter to your layout.
Q: How much dough will it make?
Up to 20 kg of flour per batch in a 54 litre bowl. Plan from the flour rating rather than the bowl volume - that is the figure the motor is rated against.
Q: Is the model number the bowl size?
No. This is the FS50M and the bowl is 54 litres; the FS30M is a 35 litre machine. Order against the litre figure and the flour rating, not the model code.
Q: Does the head tilt?
No, it is fixed head. More rigid and mechanically simpler than a tilting design, with a more awkward unload as the trade-off.
