The Nemco NCC0002 Easy Cheeser is a hand-operated block cuber that pulls a 2 kg block of cheese through a grid of tensioned stainless steel wires and drops out uniform 18 mm cubes. The supplier records the job at about 75 seconds against roughly 20 minutes by hand, which is the whole argument for the machine. It is entirely mechanical, so it needs no power point and no electrical work — it sits on a bench and goes to work.

Why operators choose the NCC0002

  • Wires, not blades — cheese loads a knife edge and drags. Tensioned wire shears through a block cleanly instead, which is why this style of cuber survives on a dairy or salad section where a slicer would gum up
  • One fixed cut at 18 mm — every cube leaves the same size, so portion counts per kilo stop drifting between shifts and between staff
  • Cutting wires are operator replaceable — wires are the wear part on any cheeser. These can be changed on site rather than sending the machine away, which is what keeps it in service
  • Aluminium construction — the supplier records sturdy aluminium throughout — a cast frame rather than folded sheet, which is what lets the wire grid stay tensioned
  • Bench footprint of 318 x 172 mm — narrow enough to live permanently on a prep bench instead of being carried out for each use
  • Fully manual — no power, no outlet and no electrician. A genuine saving on a fit-out, and it can work anywhere on the bench rather than near an outlet

Venue suitability

Built for any section cubing cheese to a recipe rather than to the eye — a pizza bench portioning mozzarella, a salad line building Greek or garden salads, a sandwich bar, a catering kitchen filling platters, or a deli packing tubs to a set weight. The fixed 18 mm cube is the general-purpose salad and pizza size. If you need a second, finer cut from the same machine, the NCC0003 carries interchangeable 18 mm and 9 mm arms instead.

Installation & delivery

Nothing to install and nothing to connect. Clear a bench area of about 318 x 172 mm and allow headroom above the 336 mm body for the handle to travel through its full stroke. The unit is manual throughout, so there is no power point, no switchboard work and no electrician in the commissioning. Wires are the consumable and are replaceable by your own staff. Dispatched Australia-wide.

Also available as the NCC0003 with interchangeable 18 mm and 9 mm cut arms.

Frequently asked questions

Q: How fast is it compared with cutting by hand?

The supplier records about 75 seconds to cube a 2 kg block, against roughly 20 minutes doing the same block by hand. On a section cubing several blocks a day that is most of a prep hour returned, which is the basis on which this machine is normally bought.

Q: Does it need a power point?

No. The NCC0002 is entirely hand-operated. There is no motor, no lead and no plug, so it needs no outlet, no switchboard work and no electrician. You can put it anywhere on the bench.

Q: Can I change the cut size?

Not on this model. The NCC0002 is a fixed 18 mm cube. If you want two cut sizes from one machine, the NCC0003 is the same cuber supplied with interchangeable 18 mm and 9 mm arms.

Q: What wears out, and can we replace it ourselves?

The cutting wires. The supplier specifies them as operator replaceable, so a worn wire is a bench-side job rather than a service call or a machine going off site.

Q: Will it handle anything other than cheese?

The supplier describes and rates it for cheese blocks only, so that is all we will state for it. If you want to cube firmer produce, ask our team and we will point you at the right machine rather than guess on this one.

Q: What warranty does it carry?

Twelve months, back to base. Back to base means a warranty repair is carried out at the service agent's workshop and the unit is returned to you, rather than a technician attending your site. Full terms are on our warranty information page.
