The Tyrone SCP66 is a 66 litre fixed-head spiral mixer with a 550 x 370 mm bowl, taking 0.25 to 30 kg of flour and a recorded kneading capacity of 45 kg. Like the smaller SCP23 it runs ten speeds on a variable frequency drive with speed memory and programmable work steps, and is rated for a 50 to 57% hydration recipe. It is a 415 V three-phase machine.

Why operators choose the SCP66

  • A working range from 0.25 kg to 30 kg of flour — a 120-fold range on one machine. The 0.25 kg minimum is the unusual end - most mixers this size cannot engage a small batch at all, which normally forces a venue into a second smaller machine
  • 45 kg kneading capacity recorded — stated separately from the 30 kg flour figure - flour is what you charge, kneading capacity is the finished dough mass the machine is rated to work
  • Rated for 50 to 57% hydration — a stated working window rather than a vague claim
  • 415 V three phase — an installation job, not a plug. Price the electrical work before ordering
  • Ten speeds on a variable frequency drive — not two fixed speeds but a VFD-controlled range, and the machine remembers the speed you prefer. That matters if you run several dough types on one mixer
  • Programmable work steps with a timer — set a sequence rather than standing at the controls. Combined with the speed memory it makes the result repeatable between staff
  • Automatically adjusts speed to maintain power output — as the dough stiffens the load rises; the drive compensates instead of bogging down
  • Inching reverse and positive reverse — jog the bowl backwards to free dough and help unloading, which on a fixed-head machine is the awkward part
  • Digital panel showing speed and operating time — both read rather than estimated, which is what makes a recipe repeatable
  • Error code system — a fault reports itself rather than presenting as a machine that will not start
  • Overload and overheat protection — built in. A spiral mixer working stiff dough draws hard, and these are what stop an overloaded batch becoming a motor replacement
  • Adjustable feet and four castors — level it where it stands, roll it out to clean behind
  • Safety guard included — fitted as standard

Venue suitability

The SCP66 suits bakeries and high-volume pizzerias working up to 30 kg of flour a batch, and the unusually low 0.25 kg minimum means it can also handle a small trial dough without a second machine. It needs a three-phase supply, so the electrical work belongs in the budget from the start.

Installation & delivery

This is a 415 V three-phase machine at 3.3 kW — installation by a licensed electrician, and if three phase is not already at your premises price that work before committing, because it can exceed the cost of the machine. Dimensions are recorded width x depth x height: 620 mm wide, 1,020 mm deep, 1,070 mm tall, weighing 205 kg — plan the delivery route. It packs at 700 x 1,120 x 1,150 mm.

Warranty condition: the second year of parts cover applies only if the product is registered within 14 days of invoice. Register it on delivery.

Warranty terms are per product — see our warranty information page.

Frequently asked questions

Q: What is the difference between flour capacity and kneading capacity?

Flour capacity (0.25 to 30 kg) is what you charge into the bowl. Kneading capacity (45 kg) is the finished dough mass the machine is rated to work once the water is in. Both are recorded for this model - use the flour figure when you are scaling a recipe and the kneading figure when you are checking the machine is not being overloaded.

Q: What electrical supply does it need?

415 V three phase at 3.3 kW, installed by a licensed electrician. This is not a plug-in machine. If your premises do not already have three phase, get that priced before you order - it is often the larger part of the total cost.

Q: What does the variable frequency drive give me?

Ten speeds rather than the usual two, held under changing load: as the dough stiffens the drive adjusts to maintain power output instead of bogging down. It also memorises a preferred speed and runs programmable work steps, so the result is repeatable between staff.

Q: Can it mix a small batch?

Yes - down to 0.25 kg of flour, which is unusual on a 66 litre machine. Most mixers this size cannot engage a batch that small, which normally means keeping a second small mixer for trial doughs.

Q: What hydration can it handle?

Rated for 50 to 57%. If you are working outside that window, ask us before ordering rather than assuming it will cope.
