The Washmaster WM50HR is a passthrough dishwasher with heat recovery — it captures steam to preheat incoming water, which cuts both energy use and running cost. It processes 60 racks an hour on 2.5 litres of rinse water per cycle, takes glasses up to 45 cm tall, and includes a drain pump so waste can be run almost anywhere. It needs a 400 V three-phase supply at 8.7 kW.
Why operators choose the WM50HR
- Heat recovery captures steam to preheat incoming water — the reason to choose this over the standard WM50H: less energy per rack, and less steam escaping into the room every time the hood lifts
- 60 racks per hour — a real high-volume figure - one rack a minute, sustained
- Only 2.5 litres of rinse water per cycle — water is a running cost and a trade-waste cost, and this is a genuinely low figure
- Takes glasses up to 45 cm tall — the spec that decides whether your tallest glassware or trays actually fit
- Drain pump fitted — waste can be run to a connection above floor level, which removes the usual constraint on where a dishwasher can go
- Thermostop system — the rinse will not start until the boiler is at temperature, so every cycle actually sanitises rather than just finishing
- Built-in detergent and rinse aid dispensers — no external dosing equipment to buy, mount and plumb
- Door safety switch — the machine stops if the door is opened mid-cycle
- Four wash cycles — short for glassware through to long for baked-on plates, rather than one compromise setting
- 15 litre wash tank — enough volume to hold wash temperature and detergent concentration through consecutive racks

Venue suitability
The WM50HR suits restaurants, cafes, clubs, hotels and catering operations running a real dishwashing load, where the heat recovery pays for itself over the machine's life. At 2229 mm with the hood raised it needs genuine ceiling height, and the three-phase supply needs settling before delivery.

Installation & delivery
This is a three-phase machine and must be hard-wired by a licensed electrician — 400 V, 8.7 kW, 16 A total. Check your ceiling height carefully: the unit stands 2229 mm with the hood up, which is taller than many kitchens allow for. Water connects via a 3/4 inch hose and the drain hose is 24 mm; because a drain pump is fitted, the waste connection does not have to be below the machine. Specify water treatment at the same time — scale is what kills a commercial dishwasher's boiler.
Frequently asked questions
Q: What does heat recovery actually save?
It captures the steam that would otherwise escape when the hood lifts and uses it to preheat incoming water. That means less energy to bring each rinse to temperature, and less steam and heat dumped into the kitchen. Over a machine running 60 racks an hour, both matter.
Q: What electrical supply does the WM50HR need?
400 V three-phase, 8.7 kW total, 16 A total current. It must be hard-wired by a licensed electrician - this is not a plug-in appliance. Settle it before delivery.
Q: How much height does it need?
2229 mm with the hood raised. That is the figure to measure against your ceiling or any shelf above the position, not the cabinet height.
Q: What is the tallest thing it will wash?
Glasses up to 45 cm, on 500 x 500 mm racks.
Q: Does the drain need to be below the machine?
No - a drain pump is fitted, so waste can be run to a connection above floor level. That removes the usual constraint on where a passthrough dishwasher can be positioned.
Q: What warranty does the WM50HR come with?
Covered for 2 years on parts and labour. Terms vary by product — see our warranty information page for full details.
