asber

Asber makes commercial dishwashers and glasswashers: underbench machines for cafes and bars and pass-through hood-type machines for restaurant dishrooms. Commercial Kitchen Appliances carries the Asber Tech Line and Easy Line ranges.

Underbench machines

The Tech Line GE-500BDD is an underbench dishwasher rated at 30 baskets an hour through a 500 x 500 mm rack, with three cycles of 90, 120 and 180 seconds, built-in rinse aid and detergent dispensers and a drain pump, at 3.4 kW on a 15 A outlet. The GE-400BDD is an underbench glass and dishwasher, also rated at 30 baskets an hour on the same three cycles, at 3.05 kW on 15 A, with a drain pump and built-in dispensers.

Pass-through hood-type machines

The Tech Line GE-H500BDD is rated at 40 baskets an hour across 90, 120 and 180-second cycles plus a continuous mode for heavy clean-downs. It has a 45 litre wash tank, a 7 litre boiler and a drain pump, and needs a 415 V three-phase supply. The GE-H500DD is also rated at 40 baskets an hour on the same three cycles, on three-phase. The Easy Line GEX-H500BDD runs on 240 V from a 15 A outlet, with 90 and 180-second cycles, a continuous mode, a 33 litre wash tank and a 7 litre rinse boiler; it needs a hot water connection.

Thermostop: why the rinse waits

Asber machines such as the GE-500BDD, GE-H500DD and GEX-H500BDD wash at 60°C and rinse at 85°C, and the final rinse is what sanitises. The thermostop function on models such as the GE-400BDD, GE-500BDD and GE-H500DD holds the rinse until the boiler is genuinely at temperature, so every cycle rinses hot enough rather than whenever the timer says.

Drain pumps and hot water

A drain pump pushes waste water out rather than relying on gravity, which makes installation possible where the drain sits higher than the machine. The Easy Line GEX-H500BDD is designed to be fed hot water; without a hot supply, cycle times and rinse temperatures suffer. On hood-type machines, also confirm the height needed with the hood raised, which is greater than the cabinet height.

  • Throughput. 30 baskets an hour underbench, 40 an hour on the Tech Line hood types.
  • Power. 15 A single-phase or 415 V three-phase, by model.
  • Water. Confirm hot water where the model needs it.
  • Height. Allow for the hood raised on pass-through machines.
